Police monitor an anti-war protest march along a central London street, near the Houses of Parliament. The demonstration was organized to call for the withdrawal of British troops from Iraq. In an announcement to parliament, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Britain plans to withdraw nearly half its troops from Iraq beginning next spring.
